    A time for mourning

Written by pigskinlovinglady on July 30, 2007 at 11:39 am

A legend is lost…Bill Walsh, a great coach and the master mind behind the West Coast offense has passed away. I can feel the emptiness, bellowing out from the Bay area. This man’s bio reads nothing short of an offensive GOD. This is not just a sad day in football or San Fran, but a very sullen day in sports.

I’d take a sabbatical and travel the U.S. visiting training camps. Since I don’t and can’t, I can only place here, for your viewing pleasure and mine, the locations of each teams. If you happen to be near or live in a town where a camp is taking place…LUCKY YOU!! One day, this dream of mine will happen. I’m claiming it!!

    Training Camp is here, yippee

Written by pigskinlovinglady on July 23, 2007 at 1:24 pm

I am so ready for football I’ve taken to watching replays of games on the NFL Network. They are getting all of us true fans, ready for the season by starting the games at 1PM, just like the regular season. If only Boomer and the guys over at ESPN would start hosting NFL Sunday..oo would my day be complete! The sad thing is although I know the outcome I’m still just as excited watching! Football gives me chills like good sex.mmm mmmm!!!! Okay, I lost it for a minute but I’m back.

Even with training camps starting this week, the veterans aren’t required to report until later, some Wed. but definitely by Thurs. I think the hungry will report early. The NFL Network is going to visit and report on all 32 teams’ camps – exclusive coverage. I wonder how many internal squabbles will take place this year?

Don’t forget to tune in on August 4th. Witness some of the great enter into the Hall of Fame. Congratulations to – Michael Irving, Thurman Thomas, Gene Hickerson, Bruce Matthews, Charlie Sanders, and Roger Wehrli.

The HOF game will be played on Aug. 5 between the storied Saints and Steelers. Don’t expect too much action, but men have their pride so something should transpire. There’s some story lines to focus on, for example, the old vs. the new:

Drew Brees vs. Big Ben (QBs)
Marcus Colston vs. Hines Ward (WRs)
Najee Davenport vs. Reggie Bush (RBs)
Hell…Duce McAllister vs. Reggie Bush (team mates, and arguably the best backfield in the game right now)
Sean Payton vs. Mike Tomlin (coaches)
The Steel Curtain vs. Katrina hopeful (fans)

Whatever the case, I’ll be watching!!

I left Mike Vick and the dog allegations out of the blog on purpose. It’s a major part of the news, but the #1 focus is the National Football League is now back in MOFO Session! Get Me!
    My blog, my thoughts. www.pigskinlovinglady.blogspot.com

P.S. before I could finish my post, the commissioner ordered Mick Vick NOT to report to training camp. Ain’t this some shit.

    Rocking and Rolling

With training camp starting in a week’s time, some players are asking if they’ll be allowed to practice, let alone play.

Michael Vick has been indicted for dog fighting by the FBI. They finally are going to get this man in court. Personally, this shouldn’t be punishable in the court of law. If your morals allow you to watch 2 vicious dogs try and kill one another, something is wrong. But, MV they’re getting you out of the way the backup QB to get a couple of snaps. Who is he BTW?

Pacman Jones hopes he can join the Titans in training camp.

Dante Culpepper is hoping he has a team by then, since the Dolphins finally released him. I’m hope he gets to back Steve McNair up, in B-more. They were the top 2 black QBs at one point in time. I don’t think Jacksonville is a good fit for him, although they have expressed the most interest.

The New England Patroits have signed Troy Brown to another year. This man has been in the league for 15 years and shows no signs of slowing down… On the flip side, Asante Samuel, doesn’t have a deal. Holding out on the Patroits means nada, just ask Ty Law and Deion Branch. Great players that held out and ended up elsewhere.
