    Decide to Be Happy

Written by pigskinlovinglady on September 27, 2007 at 12:34 pm

Today I decided to be content with all things that is my life. Change is the only constant in life and I accepted and embraced mine…especially when its specifically what you asked for. I understand that I am blessed.

With that, I’m going to end the work week and my blog on a happy note! No predictions, no opinions, just some good looking men. They may not appeal to all, but its my blog and I can post what and who I want. ;-)

If your lucky enough to live in the city where these men play, stalk them. J/K Or just sit back and appreciate the true beauty that is…A BALL PLAYER.
    mm hmmm, me likey.

Robert Griffith – Arizona Cardinals (Those arms…)

Javon Walker – Denver Broncos (side profiling & still giving you the business)

Mario Williams – Houston Texans (Is he asking us to come with?)

Mike Rucker – Carolina Panthers (pretty teeth and a nice smile gets me every time)

**If you have a player you’d like to see, holla at your girl. Leave a comment with a name and I’ll see what I can do.** Until next time…”peace & love”

How bout dem Cowboys…and the Texans?

Written by pigskinlovinglady on September 26, 2007 at 7:08 am

It’s hard not to feel the good vibe blowing from Texas. Did you watch SNF with Dallas at Chicago. They beat the Bears on both sides of the ball, convincingly. Romo hung in the pocket, producing 329 yards. Julius Jones and Marion Barber showed why is better to have two good running backs instead of one highly, talented back, cough cough LT and LJ. Terrell Owens caught 8 passes for 145 yards and let’s not forget Jason Whitten. He is reliable, like the good folks over at All State and I love his ability to get YAC (yards after the catch).
The compliment to a smooth offense is a unrelenting defense. They had the key components already in place, but Wade Phillips’ style of coaching, in addition to his skills as a defensive coordinator has the Cowboys seeming to be the ones to beat in the NFC.
I love Bill Parcells and I have him listed as one of the Top Ten Coaches of all time. But his old-school style of coaching might have been the strangle hold that was smothering the Cowboys from reaching its true potential. Time will tell.

Come with. Let’s travel over to Houston, where after one year under his belt, Gary Kubiak has the Texans playing some good football. Matt Schaub has the Falcons cursing the day they let him go. Andre Johnson, Ahmed Green & Ron Dayne have the offense completing 3rd down conversions, while scoring points. Thus allowing the defense to come onto the field refreshed and ready for action. Mario Williams, the #1 pick from last years draft, is finally helping those of us understand why he was picked first. Although they lost the game (30-24) against the Colts, it wasn’t a blow out as in past years. That speaks volumes for the talent and maturity of this team. This division is tough, with Indy, Tennessee and Jacksonville all participants but if you make it out, you did well.

It’s still early, but I like to give props where props is due. Go Texas!

    Fantasy Football Friday

Written by pigskinlovinglady on September 21, 2007 at 11:18 am

First of all, let’s Thank God It’s Friday. No, not because its be a long, arduous work week and the weekend is finally here. (Well that could be a major factor by 5:30.) I’m thankful that we only have two days before Week 3 of the NFL. I understand that some people don’t like to rush the weekend, instead they like to take it one day at a time. For some, focusing on Sunday means Monday is looming – thus another long, arduous work week. Sorry folks, but football makes me very, very happy and I need my Sundays to hurry up and get here! I’ll complain about work on Tuesday morning after having stayed up watching MNF!

Are you playing fantasy football? I am, and just spent the better part of my morning, sifting through the various sports outlets on the internet, updating myself of injuries and stats so I could prepare my line up. I’m currently in first place with no plans of rendering my position to my opposition! This was a great segue into the next set of questions.

Do you watch the game differently if your playing fantasy football? Do you find yourself routing for or against a team you normally would not? I find myself doing all of the above. Instead or making prognostications this year on which team will win, I decided to just be my own head coach, its easier and cheaper for those of us that participate in office pools. It’s no less frustrating because of my competitive edge, but I like the feeling of being in control…some what. Who knew Carson Palmer would throw for 401 yards and 6 TDs and get me 38 points. I blew my opponent out of the water!!

Vegas has a different take on football and its called a point spread. Since I have a very dear friend traveling there this weekend, with grandiose hopes of becoming rich and hitting her friend off with a little something-something, here’s your week 3 schedule with a little twist.

Enjoy the games and I hope your team and Lisa wins!!
