We’re in a recession and the effects have reached into the pockets of the National Football League and its employees. In hopes of cutting costs the NFL offered buyouts to 400 employees in hopes that 110 – 150 of them would take it. Not the case, only 74 took the voluntary severance package which included three weeks of pay for every year of service, half of the prior’s year bonus and a year of medical coverage.

Not to be outdone, the Commissioner is assuming his position as well. He started by cutting his total compensation for 2008 by 20-25% and freezing his salary for 2009. How much does the good guy make annually you ask? In fiscal year 2009, Roger is slated to receive $11 million. Yup…he’s hurting BIG TIME!
