Steve McNair Jr. is a high school football standout and he’s only a junior. He isn’t quarterback; he’s a wide receiver who just finished his junior year at Oak Grove High in Hattiesburg, Miss., and already has received scholarship offers from four Div. I-A teams. West Virginia, Tulsa, Mississippi State and Southern Mississippi have all offered scholarships, according to SCOUT.COM, and there are other major programs that seem to be interested. As a junior this past season, McNair, Jr. caught 58 passes for 962 yards and a 16.6 yards per catch average, with eight touchdowns.
SMH…I can’t help but think of the additional pressure he feels. It wasn’t enough that your dad was a football superstar.

So sad his dad will NEVER see him prosper! Whyyyyy????? I don’t understand why a man who has a beautiful wife and family would do something like that. I truly don’t understand some men. This young man has to deal with this tragedy for the rest of his life. I hope he isn’t sidelined (no pun intended) by this!

I would think it is definitely harder to follow in the footsteps of your father in the same sport, particularly if the father was very successful in it. His pressure has been doubled because of his father’s fate.
