Former New Jets star, Mark Gastineau just met his son for the first time in 20 years. Brigette Nelson (Rocky IV, The Surreal Life) had an affair with the Jets’ leading sacker in 1988. Mark Gastineau was still married to his wife when he took off with Nielsen, but she moved back to Europe after they broke up. Killian Marcus Gastineau was born in December 1989.
Tom Brady recently interviewed with a radio show in Boston and he wants the world to know that being married isn’t affecting his QB skills.
Hopefully, because I got married, that doesn’t affect how I play quarterback; I think my life is focuses. I prioritize what’s important to me, that’s my family and my football career,” Brady explains. “There’s nothing other than that.”
Jamar Nesbitt of the New Orleans Saints is suing Beverly Hills socialite Nikki Haskell for $750,000 in lost wages and damages. Nikki created the Haskell’s Star Caps diet pills that Nesbitt and six other NFL players tested positive in 2007 for bumetanide — a powerful diuretic used to mask anabolic steroids. Braylon Edwards of the NY Jets plead not guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge back in November after being accused of punching a friend of LeBron James outside of a nightclub in October. Edwards also received a suspended 180-day jail sentence and fined $1,000.The NFL will review the matter under its personal conduct policy, according to a league spokesman. Edwards is subject to discipline — i.e. suspension — but nothing will happen until the end of the season.
HOFer Bruce Smith pleaded guilty to drunken driving Thursday, saying he wanted to own up to his mistake and strive to be an asset to the community. Smith, 46, was fined $1,000 and given a 90-day suspended sentence Thursday in a plea agreement with Virginia Beach prosecutors, who dropped charges of speeding and refusal to take a breath test. Smith also must complete an alcohol safety program, and his driving privileges will be limited for one year.
“The risk versus reward was not in our favor,” Smith told reporters outside the courtroom. He said he had a 50-50 chance of beating the drunken-driving charge but still would have to contend with the other charges.
“As I have said, I was having some wine at dinner with friends,” Smith said of the night he was arrested. “I thought it was in my best interests to take ownership of that evening.”
Smith told reporters that he has hired a former state trooper to accompany him when he meets friends for dinner in the future.
