As if he needed additional attention?! The gregarious WR for the Cincinnati Bengals has signed with VH-1 to play in a new reality show called, ‘The Tournament.’

SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 11 /PRNewswire/ — Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver Chad Ocho Cinco (formerly Chad Johnson) is using his off-season to pursue happiness off the field in his new VH1 reality show “The Tournament” (working title). The series is a mix of Ocho Cinco’s on-field charisma blended with the drama of the dating pool played out in a bracket-style dating tournament. The 10 episode, one-hour series is set to premiere in July 2010.

“The Tournament” will start with Ocho Cinco finding his “first 85″ by traveling all over the country meeting women that may be interested in dating him. Then, during the first episode, he will narrow the playing field down to the sweet sixteen – four women from each of the four regions of the country – Northern, Western, Southern and Central Divisions. The sixteen chosen women will be invited to join Ocho Cinco for the rest of the tournament-style dating competition.Once the competition begins, Ocho Cinco will follow a tournament bracket where each of the ladies will have an opportunity to spend quality time with him while also facing off against one another in double-dates. The winner of each dating face-off will receive a game ball from Ocho Cinco and move on to the next round of the tournament, while the loser goes home. Ultimately the sweet sixteen will be narrowed down to eight and then the final four. In the end, the championship date between the two remaining women will result in Ocho Cinco awarding his chosen love the coveted Championship Ring. Hopefully, she turns out to be his greatest catch this season!

It’s a pretty safe bet that his show will follow Terrell Owens, “The T.O. Show.”  I guess that’s what the “Batman and Robin” thingy was all about. Of course, I’m watching. Will you?

Smith’s segment on Who Do You Think You Are airs this Friday on NBC  at 7 p.m. CST and 8 p.m. EST.

Michael Vick was honored on Tuesday night as one of 32 NFL players to receive the Ed Block Courage Award. The award is presented to players who exemplify commitment to the principles of sportsmanship and courage. Each NFL team selects their own recipient, and most of the winners were on hand for the gala event Tuesday night.

Vick was picked as the Philadelphia Eagles‘ representative by a unanimous vote of his teammates.

“I’m very humbled to be here,” Vick said before the award ceremony. “I’m blessed to be voted by my peers, to be here, and this is an opportunity that I will take advantage of and cherish forever.”

Outside, police cars were at every driveway of the parking lot and security on the inside was very heavy due to the protesters.  Here’s my question. WTF do they want from Vick? He served his time, leave him the hell alone.

Rehearsals are now underway and the season is set to premiere on ABC  March 22 at 10 PM.

Brett Favre appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and–surprise, he didn’t say whether he was coming back to the NFL next season.

“Well Jay, it’s only been a month, and I know now that I’m just not going to say anything anytime soon, just going to kind of sit back, relax, enjoy the offseason,” Favre told Leno.

It’s Friday and I always get a lil’ froggy, so here I go, jumping. Why do men sit with their legs wide open? I couldn’t help but stare between Brett’s legs. I know, I know, but its the truth. Is he “ego” that big? In football-related news, I hope he comes back. Why not? *shrugs*

QB Michael Vick was back in his old, stumping grounds this past Sunday. The city of ATL (not really) threw him a welcome home party at the Velvet Room. They say never bring sand to the beach, but eh, his fiancée, Kijafa Frink wasn’t having it. From the looks of the pictures, she enjoyed herself way more than he did. I know what she’s thinking, “yeah bishes….I’m here.” I don’t blame her! *Ron Mexico*

WR Terrell Owens was honored last night as one of Cosmopolitan Magazine’s Fun Fearless Males of 2010 at The Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York City. The definition of a fun, fearless man according to the magazine is one who wowed us on the playing field, but they also blew us away by sharing everything from their deepest insecurities to their bravest moments to what they crave about women.  Well, wearing that wig, was definitely fun and fearless for the WR.

Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder just spent $600,000 on two alligator leather desks with matching alligator-skin chairs for his offices at FedExField in Landover, Md.

Snyder ordered the desks from the new Giorgio’s of Palm Beach store on Madison Avenue. A rep for the store said, “Mr. Snyder ordered two desks and two chairs, and they will be delivered in around six weeks.”

Let’s see if PETA marches in Maryland. Probably not…but the fans of the Washington Redskins should. The cost to attend and enjoy a game at FED-EX is ridiculous. Do y’all see where the $$ is going? His ass vs. the offensive line. uh uh uh

1. What gets a #1 defense fired up? Well I think it’s the thought of us being #1. Whenever you see a goal that’s attainable, it makes u work a lil’ extra knowing that its right in front of you!

2. The defense handled Peyton Manning in the 1st half of the AFC Championship, what happen? He happened, lol! He’s a great player but he is even smarter. Once he figured out what we were doing in the 2nd half he torched us, but we gave it our best.

3. After being benched during the middle of the season, what did you adjust to improve your game? Well it wasn’t a benching lol (My bad, Kerry) I was demoted for 1 game and that game I got 2 interceptions! I just think it made me refocus. It also let me know that no one is immune to scrutiny or having to adjust what they have done in the past to get better. And I took it and moved on and elevated my play!

4. Who do you think would be a good offseason addition to the Jets? At this time of the year you just try to improve your team in any way you can and for us we have a great team coming back. With that being said if there is anyway you can bolster your line up with a guy like Julius Peppers, hey you do that lol!

5. You’ve played against the elite QBs this season: Brady, Brees, Manning and Rivers, rank them. They are all good players and I hate ranking players because it can change game to game but right now I’ll say; Manning, Brady, Brees, and Rivers.

Then…

1.  Where did the nickname Mr. Hollywood come from? lol, well a good friend of mine Jonathan Vilma, who was on the team with me at the time saw all the attention I got from females and that I had producers wanting me in TV/movies and stuff of that nature. He just kind of appointed that name to me. It stuck to say the least!

2. Are you interested in modeling? I’m not really interested in modeling so to speak, but if the job is linked to an endorsement or something bigger I do entertain those situations.

3. Are you single? (Ladies, pls note that he left this blank on purpose. LOL)

4. Is marriage something you’re looking forward too? Family is super big to me. My parents have been happily married since they were 19; so I know the importance and the need for love in this world and I want that someday when I’m really ready.

5. What are your plans during the offseason? Well I travel during this time and I have some big time trips lined up. I’m also leaving for LA to train with Tom Brady and a few other guys for a month with a personal trainer. I’m trying to get my body right so I’ll be stationed out there.

I hear the rumors of his not coming back to the Jets, just as well as he has. He had an off year, not a bad year, and I wish him nothing but continued success, on and off the field.

Following in the footsteps of Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith, Warren Sapp, Jason Taylor and Lawrence Taylor, Chad Ochocinco is the next NFL’er to take on ABC’s ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ Unlike the previous ballers, Chad has a huge social network advantage, his Twitter followers.  We all know he has charm and a gregarious personality, but he still has to dance.  Performing the ‘river dance’ or donning a sombrero is one thing, but let’s see if he can Tango or dance the Foxtrot.

Other competitors include Pamela Anderson, Kate Gosselin, ESPN’s Erin Andrews, Reno 911!star Niecey Nash, astronaut Buzz Aldrin, Shannen Doherty, Jake Pavelka , Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, and soap actor Aiden Turner.
