Because of two failed marriages, she found herself raising her children alone. There were many battles she had to fight along her journey; some were bitter and others were sweet. The book in question is called Bitter Sweet: A Woman’s Journey, and it’s the work of more than twelve years for Washington Redskin DeAngelo Hall’s mother Joan.
“It’s about my life,” she said, “and the struggles raising my children as a single parent. The loss of my son, when my 25 year old was murdered; raising my two daughters with MS … just the struggles that I went through trying to raise my children and the challenges that I faced. Going to college, teaching 28 years … just to let people know that the journey to get there was not an easy one.”
Joan Hall says she’s tried to instill in DeAngelo. “Money only buys things,” she said. “It cannot buy happiness, and at the end of the day if you’re not happy, money’s not gonna make you happy.” Read More…

With training camp in session, NFL ballers are practicing and studying hard for the upcoming season. There’s some downtime in between and that’s when they’ve taken to Twitter and snapping photos for us to get a glimpse of what’s going on. Twitter is such a big deal it’s been ruling mandating NO TWITTERING during games and a code of conduct in the books at training camp. LOL Yes folks, it’s just that serious…and may I add…FUN!! I wonder how they feel about UStream? hmmm…

I ventured to Josephine’s on Sunday evening thinking I’d get a chance to network/meet DeAngelo Hall, but that didn’t happen. I don’t know who to blame for his absence…promoters, him, whomever.
Luckily, my girl and I had a ball thanks to 4 rounds of GA Peaches (long island minus the coke w/a splash of peach schnapps), good music and my digital camera. 
Then where did he take that picture you ask? Over at Fly Lounge on Monday night. I’m guessing the perks were better. *shrugs*
