The Kick off celebration was last night with a special Pro Bowl edition of the 400 Club at Mansion hosted by Bryant McKinnie of the Minnesota Vikings. This is just a preview of the shenanigans and debauchery that’ll take place in South Florida over the next 10 days.

The National Football League is better than a soap opera with all its juicy story lines. The executives that write up the schedule know exactly how to keep us intrigued and watching. I always wonder if I, a fan, am this excited, the players must be going CRAZYYYY!!!
I’m not referring to the normal rivalries such as the Redskins vs. Cowboys or the Chiefs vs. Raiders, but I’ll take those game for $100 Alex. But during the off season trades happen. Some NFL’ers departs for more $$ after winning a Super Bowl…that’s cool. But what about discarded and incensed players. What are they thinking?
I know Edgerrin James wanted out of Arizona. But now that he’s with the Seahawks, you know he has those games marked with an asterisk!

The Arizona Cardinals granted running back Edgerrin James’ wish to be released on Tuesday and cut two others who played significant roles in the team’s run to the Super Bowl.
“Edgerrin James had a great run in Arizona and now it is time for him to continue his Hall of Fame career elsewhere,” James’ agent Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN.com’s John Clayton.
“One of his goals was to help the Cardinals get to a Super Bowl and he is eager to help another team get to that same level. Edgerrin is excited about signing with a new team. So far, several teams have expressed interest and we may have a deal in place in the very near future.”
James, 30, had one year left, at $5 million, on the four-year, $40 million deal he signed with Arizona before the 2006 season. In his 10-year career, James has rushed for 12,121 yards, 11th on the NFL career list and first among active players.
Maybe he did want out….but come on…..the man just lost his girlfriend to Leukemia and then he gets cut! Such a shame….maybe he will find someone who will appreciates all of the success that he had with the Colts….and yes I said the COLTS!

The girlfriend of Arizona Cardinal RB Edgerrin James and mother of his four children died of leukemia on Tuesday. This is very sad, my prayers goes out to her children & family. I’m sure Edge is having a tough time with this as well. They’ve been together for quite some time. The funeral is today at 1PM.
Andia Denise Wilson, 30, of Naples died at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa after battling acute myeloid leukemia. James, who plays for the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals, is listed as Wilson’s “loving spouse and significant other” in an obituary notice. James and Wilson had four children: Edquisha, 11, Ehyanna, 7, Edgerrin Jr., 4, and Euro, 2. Wilson also is survived by her parents, Jodi Wilson and Larry Green, and grandmother, Viola Fuller.
