Hands down, THEE best party of the weekend- ESPN The Magazine’s NEXT Event at the Fountainbleau brought together the elite and beautiful people from the sports’ world, music, and movie industry. When 400 people are standing in the VIP line that’s a sure sign that what’s happening inside is worth the wait.
NeYo, Keri Hilson and Jermaine Dupri performed while Nelly, Gloria Estefan and others worked the crowd. Just to think, I was invited, *insert sad face*

Former football players slay me once they become “analyst.” The need to feed the beast makes my butt itch. Former Cowboy, now analyst for ESPN, Darren Woodson was asked by Mike Greenberg about the experience advantage the Buffalo Bills had over the Dallas Cowboys in the 1993 Super Bowl.
“As much as everyone talked about how much experience the Bills had back then, they partied harder than any other team. That’s all we heard about the entire week in L.A., the (Cowboys) first Super Bowl.
“They (Bills players) were out Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Couple guys got into altercations in the clubs, older, veteran guys with the Bills.
“Experience doesn’t mean that much, it’s all about leadership. There’s a reason they (Bills) lost four Super Bowls. They partied harder than any other team.”
*blank stare* As much as the media loves a juicy story, why don’t I recall hearing about the Bills partying and getting into fights before the Super Bowl. Thanks to the almighty powers of Google, I just searched again, and still came up empty handed.
Pure and simple, the Buffalo Bills played horribly and although it was their 3rd consecutive Super Bowl, the journey prior to the big game was tough. QB Jim Kelly was injured in the wildcard game against the Houston Oilers. Known as “The Comeback”, the Buffalo Bills rallied from a 32-point deficit lead by backup QB Frank Reich to win the game in OT.
Jim Kelly and Thurman Thomas returned for the next two games against the Steelers & Dolphins rusty from their injuries, but some questioned why Reich wasn’t in the game. .
But in the Super Bowl, the Bills’ had NINE turnovers—four interceptions and five lost fumbles. During the 2nd quarter, LB Ken Norton, Jr. hit Kelly on his sprained knee; re-injuring the QB and in trots Frank Reich, hoping to become a hero once more. He was not prepared for Dallas’ defense, thus the final score being 52 – 17. That my dear friend, are facts, not rumors.
So I say again, STHU Darren Woodson!! Nobody talks about my Bills and gets away it!!

According to ESPN, the Philadelphia police have enlisted the FBI to help investigate whether the fatal shooting of a convicted drug dealer last July is related to an earlier incident in which the victim claimed that he was shot by former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison.
Dwight Dixon was killed on July 21, 2009, when a gunman approached the driver’s side of his Toyota Camry and fired four times, shot through the back window, and then fired two more times into the passenger side. Video surveillance taken by a camera at a nearby store shows the gunman — wearing a hooded sweatshirt, jeans and white sneakers — fleeing with his head lowered and face obscured. Dixon was struck in the chest, stomach and arm.
The location is a few blocks from a car wash owned by Harrison and down the street from his bar called Playmakers.
Moments after the shooting, Dixon told police who rushed to the scene that he believed the incident was related to an April 2008 assault in the same neighborhood, in which his truck was sprayed with gunfire and he suffered a bullet hole in his left hand.
Dixon, 33, lapsed into a coma before he could be interviewed by police. He died on Sept. 4 from the wounds. The Philadelphia Police Department still considers the case open and active. Read More…

Clearly he hasn’t exorcized his demons. After granting ESPN’s Jemile Hill an interview back in August, I thought positively about him changing his life. However, the ex-WR was sentenced to 93 days in jail this morning for violating terms of probation in his ongoing battle with substance abuse.
Novi Deputy Police Chief Tom Lindberg said this morning that Rogers was found slumped over at a table Tuesday afternoon at On the Border restaurant in Novi, and employees who couldn’t wake him called 911. Police and emergency medical personnel were sent to the restaurant on Haggerty Road.
“He was showing signs of intoxication and was uncooperative, and at that point our officers determined that he had a warrant out for his arrest,” Lindberg said.
He’s 29 years old and the father of five. That’s six reasons to do better and #1 is self.
