Gatorade held a launch party for its ‘G Series Pro’ last night in NYC and who better to represent the brand and the city but Eli Manning (Giants) and Ladainian Tomlinson (Jets). Originally, developed exclusively for pro athletes, the kind folks at Gatorade has decided to share it with the masses. I traveled to South Florida during the Pro Bowl to test at the Gatorade lab and sample the G Series Pro. You can read my review here. Read More…

I had the opportunity to sit down with Eagles WR DeSean “Action” Jackson while down in South Florida this week. Fresh off his workout at the Gatorade Performance Lab, the explosive wide receiver answered questions regarding the rumors of McNabb leaving Philly, Vick’s presence in the locker room, as well as the loses to the Dallas Cowboys. He also skated around picking a winner for Super Bowl XLIV, but aren’t we all!!

Thanks to the good people at Gatorade I was able to attend the 2010 Pro Bowl and I enjoyed myself immensely. (I’ll tell you about that later.) In addition to attending the Pro Bowl, bloggers from around the nation traveled to South Florida to test at the Gatorade Performance Lab using the new G Series. The testing illustrates how the body works during exercise and demonstrates the science behind the development of the G Series.
The G Series marks a major step in evolution of Gatorade from a sports drink company to a sports performance innovator. On Super Sunday NFL players will utilize Prime 01 – which provides a burst of pregame fuel to help them perform at their best. During the game they’ll drink Gatorade Perform 02, which helps keeps them hydrated and fuel working to muscles to help them push through. After the game, the players will drink Recover 03, the first protein beverage formulated with the consistency of a thirst quencher to provide hydration and muscle recovery benefits after exercise. Lucky me, I was able to sample them all.
I spared the video of me working out but here’s photographic evidence that I actually did participate. :-0) IMO Gatorade’s new G Series is a hit. I rode the stationary bike for 20 minutes and around the 5 minute mark, I could feel a burst of energy, thanks to Prime 01. Because of the mouth piece I wasn’t able to sip Perform 02 – but it was waiting for me. I prefer Fruit Punch, extra cold and it was. Read More…

While down here in South Beach, I’m taking part in a really cool experience. You’ve probably heard of (or at least seen the commercials) of athletes testing at the Gatorade science labs? Well, they’re bringing in a “mobile” Lab to the Super Bowl Media Center to showcase Gatorade scientists conducting performance tests on athletes, including Eli Manning, Tony Gonzalez, Maurice Jones-Drew and….me! This is truly an amazing opportunity that only a brand like Gatorade could provide. The tests will show exactly how my body reacts under physical stress and how it burns energy via fat and calories. (OMG my hair…that’s all I can think about!!)
During the testing, we’ll be using the new G Series, which is a group of products for before, during and after workouts. It’s an exclusive opportunity to try the G Series, which won’t be released until spring. And guess what, you can watch my test and ask questions on http://www.ustream.tv/gstream
My test is Tuesday morning beginning at 9:00AM ET. The entire schedule will be posted on the GStream channel. For every uStream viewer, Gatorade will donate $1 (up to $25,000) to the NFL Play60 Movement.
