BET is offering an unprecedented look into the life of Michael Vick, with a new docu-series that will follow him as he journeys on the road to redemption –in both his personal and professional life.
In this eight-part series, cameras will not only capture the NFL star’s return to football after a two-year prison term stemming from his association with a dogfighting ring, but they will also focus on much of his life prior to that turning point. Viewers will be given an unfiltered and personal experience of Vick as he restores his past and starts fresh for the future – not only for himself, but for his family and fiancée, Kijafa.
“It’s our hope that this documentary series will serve as means towards Michael Vick’s search for his personal truth, what led to the choices he made that ultimately changed his life and also, enlighten viewers that every decision you make in life matters. We hope his story will be one in which years from now, people particularly young men, will view and learn valuable lessons from, James DuBose, CEO, Dubose Entertainment. “Mike’s life may be unique, but his story is one that could be told ten times over by young men who find themselves faced with trials and tribulations. His truth has come by way of bad choices. His triumph will come by way of his commitment to change.”
“Michael Vick’s story is about second chances and we are excited to have the opportunity to tell his complete story,” said Loretha Jones, President, Original Programming, BET Networks. “What happened to Michael is endemic of what is happening to young Black men today. Michael could be anyone’s brother, father, uncle or son. It is our hope that this project will give viewers a glimpse of how he is rebuilding his life and moving forward as a human being and not just another sports figure.”
“I am not doing this documentary to show people that I’m back and unchanged by the experiences of the last few years,” said Vick. “I’m allowing the cameras to see the truth – the good, the bad and the ugly results of my decisions – with the sincere hope that it will positively affect others’ lives and prevent someone out there from making the same mistakes I did.”
Nowadays, it appears that everybody has a reality show, especially if you’re “coming back.” But if I’m willing to lose brain cells watching the Housewives of (pick a city), I can definitely support Michael Vick. It’ll be interesting to see him as a father and fiancée’. Will you watch?

The Eagles WR attended Long Beach Poly, the same high school as Snoop, so he blessed him with his own theme song for DeSeanJackson10.com. Jackson is having an outstanding sophomore year in the NFL; the Eagles are in the playoffs, selected for the Pro Bowl and your own theme song? You go boy!!!
“What it do? It’s your uncle Snoop Dogg. I just cooked you up this little track here, man. Hopefully you like it. Oh yeah. Let me break it down for ‘em one time so they can know what it is. Where the ‘Gs’ at? Where the trees at? If you want a touchdown, throw it to DJacc.”
You can listen to and/or download the song below.

The 2009 regular season is coming to an end and Week 16 painted a clearer picture of the playoffs, for most, but definitely not all.
If you bad, show ‘em you bad…
And the San Diego Chargers are doing just that. Phillip Rivers hasn’t lost a game in December and the Tennessee Titans weren’t up for the challenge to change that stat. I picked the Chargers to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl and I got the feeling I’m dead on.
The Dallas Cowboys have knocked the proverbial monkey of their back and caged his tail! They won two games in December, convincingly. The Redskins were shut out, at home, during a prime time game; good! You don’t disrespect your head coach by interviewing for his job while he’s still there. To quote Ms. Celie, “until you do right by me, everything you touch will crumble.” That’s how I feel about Mr. Synder’s reign over the franchise.
I don’t care about the 4th and 1 call that went awry, or the talk about Randy Moss quitting on certain plays, the New England Patriots are in the playoffs and there’s nothing we can do about it. The Jacksonville Jaguars got a taste of disrespect and deservingly so. You can’t choose which games to show up too.
The Cincinnati Bengals are still playing with heavy hearts and a banged up defense. They won the AFC North division title, but the win over the Chiefs by just 7, was too close for comfort, especially heading into the playoffs.
The Philadelphia Eagles welcomed ex-teammate Brian Dawkins back to Lincoln Field and sent him and the Broncos home with a ‘l.” Philadelphia is looking stronger with each game, exactly what a team needs to face San Diego in the Super Bowl.
Why am I uber excited about the Green Bay Packers trouncing of the Seattle Seahawks. I detest the NFC West; they bore me to no end. But…the Packers are in with the win and I hope they face the Vikings. Talk about revenge being sweet!!
The Houston Texans and Pittsburgh Steelers kept their respective teams in the hunt for a wild card spot by beating Miami and Baltimore. But will it be enough? Read More…
